The Heart and Soul Behind Every Dish
At the heart of Cô Chung is Auntie Chung, the woman whose warmth, wisdom, and culinary mastery form the foundation of everything we do. A former Head of the Nursing Department at the Public General Hospital of Đắk Lắk Province, Auntie Chung spent nearly 40 years in the medical field, bringing not only compassion and discipline but also a deep understanding of nutrition and food hygiene to her kitchen.
Her culinary journey began at home, inspired by her own mother — an incredible woman who raised her children alone after her husband’s early passing. A self-taught home cook and vegetable grower, Auntie Chung’s mother filled their home with flavors, love, and resilience, instilling in her daughter the invaluable lessons of resourcefulness, tradition, and heartwarming food. These treasured recipes and values have been passed down through generations and now form the soul of every dish served at Cô Chung.
Born in Hòa Bình Province in Northern Vietnam and later growing up in Đắk Lắk Province in the Central Highlands, Auntie Chung carries with her the culinary influences of multiple Vietnamese regions. This rich blend of flavors and cultural depth reflects not only in her cooking but also in our identity as a family and a brand.
Our small family is beautifully diverse, with each of us coming from and growing up in different parts of Vietnam. This diversity brings unique perspectives and flavors to our kitchen, making Cô Chung not just a restaurant, but a living celebration of Vietnam’s regional richness and unity.
What began as heartwarming meals for her own children has now extended to the entire Cô Chung family — our team, our community, and every beloved customer we serve. Auntie Chung’s dishes are more than food; they are love on a plate, tradition in a bowl, and a legacy that connects generations through authentic, soulful Vietnamese home cooking.
ĐINH ĐỨC THIỆP
The Quiet Force Behind the Flavor
Behind every strong woman is often a steadfast partner, and for Auntie Chung, that partner is her husband, Đinh Đức Thiệp — a pillar of wisdom, humility, and quiet strength in the Cô Chung story. A lifelong advocate for health and nutrition, Thiệp has been instrumental in guiding the development of Co Chung’s nutritional philosophy, ensuring that every product not only tastes good but also supports the body’s well-being.
Thiệp’s journey in the medical field spans over half a century. A former military doctor from 1970 to 1983 during the Vietnam War, Thiệp’s commitment to serving others began early in his career. Afterward, he devoted his life to practicing as a general doctor in a small village from 1983 to 2022, where he understood the unique medical needs of poor families and worked tirelessly to provide care at minimal cost. His clinic became a vital lifeline for everyone from newborns to the elderly, and he truly sacrificed his personal life, living 40 km away from his own family during the week to serve the village, only visiting his loved ones on weekends.
Having spent 52 years in medical field, Thiệp’s deep knowledge of medicine and its side effects has greatly influenced Cô Chung’s approach to nutrition. He has an acute understanding of how daily Vietnamese foods, rich in herbs and special cooking techniques, can serve as natural remedies for common health issues such as colds, coughs, and digestive discomforts. Thiệp is our nutrition consultant, advising on how to balance flavor with health benefits, ensuring that every dish is nutritious, low-calorie (below 300 calories per meal), and retains its authentic taste.
Before any menu item is sent for laboratory tests, Thiệp’s expert guidance ensures that the nutritional content and healing properties of the dish are optimized, offering long-term health benefits while staying true to the vibrant flavors of Vietnamese cuisine.

With a dynamic background in F&B operations, business strategy, and financial control, Ly has built a thriving Vietnamese food empire in Singapore—celebrated not only for its authentic flavors but also for its integration of art, culture, and uncompromising food standards.
Having spent over a decade studying and working in the U.S., Ly brings a unique cross-cultural perspective to the table, positioning herself as a bridge between Vietnamese culture and global audiences. Her international experience fuels her mission to make Vietnamese cuisine globally appreciated, understood, and respected far beyond the familiar pho and bánh mì.
With a strong foundation in business risk and compliance honed during her tenure at Citibank, Ly brings strategic precision and operational excellence to every venture. She also holds Singapore-certified qualifications in food hygiene and food auditing, enabling her to deeply understand and implement best-in-class food safety practices. Under her leadership, Cô Chung became the first Vietnamese restaurant in Singapore to obtain ISO 22000 certification, a testament to the brand’s commitment to world-class food safety and quality management.
Through CCSV, Ly is pushing boundaries in food manufacturing, pioneering innovative packaging and processing technologies to deliver nutritious, preservative-free Vietnamese meals with long shelf life—ready to be enjoyed anytime, anywhere. Her ultimate goal: to make Singapore the global hub for premium Vietnamese food exports, bridging culinary heritage with international markets and creating meaningful employment along the way.

Đinh Thị Phương Hiền is the powerhouse driving the seamless fusion of authentic Vietnamese culture and world-class dining experiences at Cô Chung. Born and raised in the heart of Vietnam’s Central Highlands in Đắk Lắk Province, Hiền’s journey took her to Sài Gòn (Ho Chi Minh City), where she excelled academically, earning a fully sponsored scholarship to graduate from Banking University of HCMC. However, her true passion lay in the hospitality industry, where she would go on to build a remarkable career.
With over 20 years of experience in Vietnam’s top-tier hospitality sector, Hiền mastered every aspect of the business, starting in entry-level roles and rapidly rising through the ranks. By 2015, she was appointed Director of Sales at one of the largest companies in Vietnam, leading high-performance teams and delivering unparalleled results. Yet, in 2021, driven by a deep commitment to her family’s legacy, Hiền made the bold decision to leave the corporate world behind and join the Cô Chung family business.
Now, as a leader in operations and strategy, Hiền ensures that every dish served at Cô Chung is a masterpiece—flawlessly executed, yet brimming with the essence of Vietnamese culture. She has redefined dining by blending authenticity, excellence, and innovation, creating a dynamic experience that resonates with local and international guests alike. Hiền’s leadership ensures that each customer not only enjoys exceptional food but also immerses themselves in the rich traditions and vibrant flavors of Vietnam.
